The second floor porch looks over Main Street in Jeffersonville, and has for 134 years. The house was built in 1885 and it has seen it share of parades! If you have ever looked closely at the railing, you might have noticed the unique style of the balusters (those things that keep the railing up). They are original to the building, and neither the local building materials shop nor Amazon has anything like them. So, when it came time to restore that porch the balusters had to be custom made and Jane and Terry knew just who to call. They called Larry. Larry is 70, he lives right up on the mountain road and has lived here for all his life. He believes that one of the best things for him is to do "good work". And his work is beautiful.

Larry did a great job on those balusters. That space is one of the finest features of the old house.
So many hours were spent on that porch by the Barnard family watching the village hum with activity. 2 small boys eagerly watched cars and trucks doing their business on Main Street. Much laundry was also hung on that porch. Many picture books were enjoyed on the gray wooden swing.
